The right clothes to go to training

When it comes to training, let’s be honest, the most important thing is not what look we wear to the gym, but rather the work and physical exercise that we do once in it. However, this does not mean that we cannot go well dressed to the gym or, at least, wear appropriate clothing. As some of you know, gyms are places where image is the most important thing and where some show some really tacky styles. So that you are not one of them, we give you some advice.

The first thing to keep in mind is that to go to the gym you cannot wear any clothes, but you have to wear specific sportswear. It is not mandatory, but it is undoubtedly the most recommended since they are garments specially designed to be comfortable, they are elastic, they breathe better and, in short, they are specially prepared for practicing sports. Of course, within each discipline we have different garments, for example, lifting weights is not the same as going to the gym to play squash.

You also have to take into account that to go to the gym it is best to be comfortable. That is to say, the garments should not be in any case an impediment to be able to perform the physical exercises correctly. For example, clothing that is too tight will prevent us from moving easily or stretching our limbs as much as possible, while clothing that is too baggy is uncomfortable and can even get caught in some of the gym machines.

As we have already told you before, the trick is to enhance our strengths and hide what we don’t like about our body. That is, if you don’t have heart attack abs and you have that “beer tummy” don’t wear tight-fitting shirts. Or if you have very thick or fat legs, don’t even think about wearing tight pants. Do you follow me?

Regarding the XXL size shirts, we have agreed before that if we do not have a very worked body, we must make an effort not to wear very tight clothes. But don’t go for XXL t-shirts either, as it will look like you’ve been abducted by a sack of potatoes and at first glance it will look like you have a few extra kilos. Select a roomy shirt, not huge.

But don’t go crazy either. Above all, be yourself, which is the true key to success. It’s about going as comfortable as possible, not going disguised as something you’re not or thinking you’re the typical “strongman” at the gym.

One of the most important rules is to dress according to the sport that we are going to do. In other words, if you are going to do weights, do not wear tight shorts or if you go to spinning class, do not wear wide and long sweatpants, if you are going to play soccer, wear the right clothes…

As I have said on many occasions, surely you are tired of reading it, we are just a few weeks away from spring and with it comes the heat. If you are embarrassed to choose the shorts or you are not comfortable with this garment, try the pirate pants. You will manage to be cool and also be covered.

A companion that should not be missing is the towel if you plan to sweat a lot. Put it in your training backpack and use it to remove excess sweat, you and those around you will thank you. Also this is a strict rule of gyms. But yes, it has to be a normal towel, not for the shower or toilet.

On the other hand, the choice of clothing is also important since white clothing, for example, helps to hide sweat more than other brighter colors.

To finish, a tip to keep your gym clothes in optimal condition. Take it out of the backpack and wash it as soon as you get home, and let it air out in a ventilated place. In any case, never let your clothes go by for days inside the backpack, since sweat and accumulated humidity can spoil it. Also, wash the backpack whenever you can to prevent it from smelling me inside and bad odors from spreading to clothes.
