2. Be disciplined. Staying motivated and sticking to your routine is the key. For me, there is no room for moderation, so I have to be strict.

4. Working out with a training partner is a great way to add some competitiveness and help push yourself. Training with someone of a similar level will help you and help others.

5. Sleeping well is very important to get the most out of training. I go to bed early and get up early, especially before games. Sleep helps to recover muscles, which is what is really important.

6. Warming up correctly prevents injuries. In training we do a couple of laps around the court, stretching and cardio exercises as a warm-up. Make sure you do something similar in your training, even if it’s a run to the gym or a warm-up on the treadmill or a bike.

7. Mix a little. I recommend a combination of cardio (running and rowing) and weight training to ensure that the exercises target all areas of the body and you will build strength and stamina. It also helps maintain interest.

8. High intensity is important to get your blood pumping and build stamina. We do a lot of sprinting in workouts and that can be incorporated into your workout whether you’re in the gym or outdoors. Try to add it to every workout you do.

9. Cardio sessions are also key to building stamina and staying in shape. Try to do bouts of around 30 minutes, increasing the number of sessions as you get stronger.

10. Exercise where you can. You can do an ab workout in your bedroom when you wake up in the morning or before you go to bed. If you get into a routine then it makes it easier as it will become a habit.

11. A good workout must be combined with a good diet. I eat a high protein diet, with lots of whole carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables and avoid sugary foods.

12. Make sure you stay hydrated. Drinking water is so important. I also avoid alcohol.

13. Eat regularly. If you train regularly it is important to keep energy levels high and fuel your body for better performance. Sometimes I eat up to 6 small meals a day to make sure I have enough energy to perform each session at a higher level.

14. I always make sure I have great music to listen to. It helps me outside, and it keeps me motivated and to do better. I like listening to hip hop and reggaeton!

15. Relax. Training and physical sessions are the most important, but a relaxed lifestyle helps to be the best you can be, physically and mentally. I dedicate my free time to family and friends, who keep me relaxed and with a positive mind
